After the War - Progress Update 1
over 1 year ago – Mon, Dec 24, 2018 at 12:58:54 AM

Hello everyone!

Alasdair and I are still overjoyed at how well our campaign worked out and have been spending the last couple weeks planning our next steps forward. We will be aiming to give you updates roughly once a month so that you can keep track of the project’s progress, without being overwhelmed.

We expect to have the funding reach us shortly, and a lot of it will be going out the door quickly to get things going. We have signed contracts with Jacqueline Bryk, Claudia Cangini, and Damien Holder along with some guidance. I’m currently doing a great deal of art direction to make sure that our fabulous art team has what they need.

We are also in the process on getting set up with Backerkit. This handy pledge management system will make it much easier to keep track of backer information, simplify the process if addresses change, and let folks add onto their pledges after the fact. It’s also a great place for pre-orders if you know anyone who missed the campaign but wants a copy. I will let you know when the Backerkit goes live.

In the meantime, I am very proud to share the AI Song Archives! This collection of music was generated by artificial intelligences in the hope of being a “safe” form of recreation, which was soon forbidden by the peacekeepers. We have smuggled the archived to Polvo for all of you to enjoy. Click here to download the archives! The AI in question is Jukedeck, which you can also play around with over here.

The Final Movement
over 1 year ago – Wed, Dec 12, 2018 at 09:17:35 PM

Hello everyone!

We are on the home stretch, and I wanted to thank all of you for your continued support for the project. We have reached stretch goals 6, which means that we will be able to commission a series of settlement maps for you to enjoy. We have also just unlocked stretch goal 7, which means that we will be creating three off-world settlements for you to explore.

We only have one more stretch goal to go, if we can hit a total of 500 backers by the end of the campaign.

With your collective support and enthusiasm, we might be able to pull it off.

Hear the Song.   Spread the Song.  Join the Song.

Now let’s make some noise, and end this with a bang!

Final Days of the War
over 1 year ago – Sun, Dec 09, 2018 at 10:57:47 PM

Tormenta is ready, and the Chorister Fleet is about to fall.

Since our last update, we have funded an adventure from Jacqueline Bryk, an expansion to explore the alien Precursors, and a narrated introduction to the game. In these two final days of the campaign, we have three more stretch goals in our sights and I hope you will help us reach them.

At 400 backers, we will get a series of new settlement maps produced by Damien Holder for the game. He created the brilliant map found on the campaign page, and I want more of his work for us all.

At 450 backers, we will create three additional settlements off-world, if you want to play games in the Oort Line, the Long Fall plateau, or Sargasso.

At 500 backers, we will hire Frances Rowat as an associate editor on the project who will help make the text sing with her editorial polish. Join us, tell your friends, and spread the word!

Stretch Goal 3 - Covenant Yard and other Adventures
over 1 year ago – Sat, Dec 01, 2018 at 06:09:55 PM

Over the last week, the kickstarter campaign for After the War has been going remarkably and we have blown past several stretch goals!

We blew past our first stretch goal which we announced last week. We are already hard at work and writing up the various Strange Gifts that characters can access. We already have some cybernetics text ready, and have the outline on how the other abilities will function.

After that, we reached our second stretch goal, the AI Song Archive! This means that all of you fine folks will gain access to a soundtrack generated by an artificial intelligence which has been carefully curated for your enjoyment.

If we hit out 300th backer, we will unlock the Covenant Yard Adventure, from Jacqueline Bryk!

Since I am certain that we will reach our 3rd stretch goal quickly, here is a sneak peek at our next goal!

At 325 Backers, we will expand the book and explore the Precursors. They are the original architects of the Alexandria Archive, and those who last encountered The Song. Alasdair Stuart will tell us more about those who camp before, and perhaps even reveal information about how the Song was created…

If you want to reach these goals, the best way is to tell a friend! Every single backer for the kickstarter contributes towards these stretch goals. Let folks know they can pick up hardcover books or PDFs. Let your friendly retail game store know they can back the campaign for a dollar. Let’s make some noise!
